|Answers of Henry Bradshaw to the Bill of
Complaint of Thomas Starke: July 9, 1700.
In September 1698 he was master and part owner of the African Galley
which Starke hired for a voyage to Guinea and Maryland. The ship was delayed in sailing through negligence of Robert
Pullen, the carpenter engaged to repair the ship. The only cargo carried were some firearms which Bradshaw
agreed to sell abroad. Details
of the voyage. Called in at
St. Thomasís to get water but denies landing at Virginia as alleged by
Starke. Details of the sale
of the Negroes.
