Virginia  This Indenture made the twenty fourth Day of January Anno Domini   One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Four    Between Field Bradfhaw of the Parifh of Littleton and the County of Cumberland on the one Part and John Hughes of the above said Parish and County, on the other Part  Witnefseth that the said Field Bradshaw for & in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and twenty  Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Hughes the Receipt whereof he the said Bradshaw doth hereby Acknowledge himself to be fully Satisfied Contented and paid and hath given Granted bargained Sold Aliened enfcoft and Confirmed unto the said John Hughes and his Heir for ever one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying & being in the Parish and County aforesaid on the head of Deep Creek Containing two Hundred Acres more or lefs and Bounded as follows (towit) Beginning on the South side of a Branch near the head of Deep Creek beginning at a White Oak on William Bradshaw Line North to a black Oak on Stephen Hughes's Line from thence East to a Corner Hickory on the West side of a Branch thence up the said Branch to a Corner Hickory thence East crofsing of three Branches to a Corner Hickory from thence New lines South crofsing a Branch to the eaft side of a Corner White Oak from thence west along new marked Trees to the Head of a Branch and down the said Branch to the Beginning Containing the aforesaid two Hundred Acres of Land.  To have and to hold the said Tract of Land and all and singular the Priviledges and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said John Hughes to him and his Heirs forever to the only proper use & behoof of him the said John Hughes  his Heirs and Afsigns forever of the said Feild Bradshaw the above sold Land & Premifses unto the said John Hughes his Heirs and Afsigns against the claiming & demand of him the said Field Bradshaw his heirs and afsigns or any other Person or Persons whatsoever shall & will Warrant and forever Defend  In Witnefs whereof the said Feild Bradshaw hath hereunto set his Hand and affixed his seal the Day and Year above Written.

  Memorandum

                                That on the Day of the date of the within written Indenture Peaceable & quiet Pofsefsion and Seizen of the Land within Mentioned to be granted was had & taken by the within Mentioned to be granted was had & taken by the within mentioned Feild Bradshaw and by him given and Delivered unto the within Named John Hughes in this proper Persons according to the Tenour Form & effect in such Cases

                                        then Received of Mr. John Hughes one hundred & twenty Pounds Current Money in full of the within Consideration Money in full of the within Consideration Money I say Rec'd.
