Know all Men by these presents that we Marck Evans & John Bratcher are held firmly bound unto James Monroe Esquire Governor or Chief Magistrate of the State of Virginia in the Sum of one hundred & fifty Dollars to which payment will & truly be made to the said James Monroe jor to his sucefsors we bind ourselves & each of us & each of our heirs Exors. & admnrs Jointly & Severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals & dated this 24th day of February 1800
The Condition of the above obligation is such that Whereas there is a Marriage Shortly intended to be had & Solemnized between the above bound Mark Evans & Tempy Bratcher now if there shall be no lawfull cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force & Virtue.
